Streak-free automotive glass is less about using more cleaner and more about controlling residue. Too much product, a dirty towel, hot glass, and repeatedly wiping the same contamination around are the usual causes of haze and streaks.
Work on cool glass
Clean glass out of direct sun whenever possible. Heat makes cleaner evaporate before you can level and remove it, which leaves behind residue.
Use two clean towels
A reliable process uses one towel for the cleaning pass and a second dry towel for the final buff. Keep glass towels separate from towels used for tire dressing, wax, interior protectants, or greasy work.
Our Microfiber & Towels collection includes dedicated options for glass and general detailing.
Use less cleaner than you think
A light, even application is usually enough. If the glass is heavily contaminated, make a first cleaning pass, flip to a clean towel section, then make a second pass instead of soaking the surface.
Change direction inside and outside
One useful detailing habit is to wipe the inside glass in one direction and the outside in another. If you see a streak during inspection, the direction tells you which side still needs work.
Do not forget the edges
Lower side windows slightly so you can clean the top edge. Dirt and residue at the edge can become visible as soon as the glass moves.
Final inspection
View the glass from more than one angle and, when possible, under both diffuse and direct light. A clean dry towel is often all that is needed to remove the last faint haze.
